...
Season 6 of Overwatch 2 features the biggest drop of content to date in Overwatch 2, with 3 brand-new Story Missions along with a new free-to-play co-op experience, support hero, core game mode, updated practice range, and hero mastery mode! Join the fight on August 10th at 12PM PDT.
Story Missions
Join the newly reformed Overwatch as they face off against a renewed Null Sector threat in three brand-new Story Missions placed in Rio de Janerio, Toronto, and Gothenburg! Featuring expansive maps, new objectives, and narrative-driven cutscenes, players will team up in groups of 4 to face off against swarms of Null Sector robots and uncover Null Sector's sinister new plans...
Access to these three story missions will require purchase of either the Invasion Bundle ($15 USD) or the Ultimate Invasion Bundle ($40 USD). Both bundles come with other items such as Overwatch Coins (the premium currency of Overwatch 2) and cosmetics.
Co-op Event
Travel to King's Row and escort an armed TS-1 push bot through new sections of the map to save Tracer's friend Iggy and the rest of the Omnic Underworld from a Null Sector invasion in this free-to-play co-op mission! No purchase necessary to participate.
Flashpoint (New Game Mode)
Flashpoint is a new core PvP game mode which sees two teams of 5 players duking it out over 5 different control points scattered throughout some of the largest maps that Overwatch 2 has seen to date! The match begins with both teams fighting for control of a central point, similar to the existing Control (King-of-the-Hill) game mode, but once a team captures the point, gameplay continues uninterrupted as teams shift to contesting a newly unlocked point. The match continues until one team wins 3 points!
New Support Hero - Illari
A new support hero named Illari has been teased for release in Season 6. Not many details are currently known, but it has been deduced that the new hero is Peruvian, uses she/her pronouns, and has some connection with the sun.
Update: In a recent trailer, the support's name has been revealed to be Illari, and some of her abilities, including her ultimate, have been briefly showcased. See the full trailer at youtu.be/z7usG2oKONE.
Skill Mastery
The practice range gets its first major overhaul with a new firing range designed to help players improve their aim against various different settings and targets at the start of Season 6. For players looking to prove their prowess with a single hero, Hero Mastery launches during the mid-season update in September. This new mode features courses designed specifically for each of the select six heroes and a global leaderboard for the best hero mains to strut their skills.
